Quartz rod and cable display
The XINDI XD-L880 puts a 500W quartz heating rod in the tank and the single LED controller on the cable, so you set 20–34 °C without putting your hand in the water. The quartz tube sits in a protective shell with nickel-chromium wire and silicon carbide filling. It is for tanks up to 300 L, or about 100 cm long, in freshwater or marine.
Heating and protection
It heats at high power below 28 °C, then holds at lower power. Heating stops at 34 °C (HH on the display). A dry-run sensor sits in the upper half of the rod — keep the rod fully submerged and upright. A red lamp on the controller means it is heating.
Optimised Installation
The power cable is about 190 cm, with the set button in the middle of the cable. Fully submerge the rod before you plug it in, stand it in a flow of water, and keep that button dry. Do not bury the rod in sand or gravel, and do not install it upside down. Silicone suction cups are on the heater.

Bought the 500W heater for my 100 cm community tank. I set the temperature on the display on the cable, and the red lamp comes on when it is heating. Easy to live with through a cold week in Glasgow.
The dry-run cut-out saved me during a water change when I forgot to unplug. I keep the rod fully submerged now, and the set button stays on the cable, out of the water.
The power cable is long enough to reach the back of the cabinet. Quartz rod in the tank, display on the cable. I use it in a marine tank and keep the rod upright in a flow of water.
Excellent bit of kit. The silicone suction cups hold the heater upright. Heating has been steady on my 100 cm tank.
I run it in a marine tank and set the temperature on the external display. No need to put a hand in the water to change it. The controller stays on the cable, dry.
